You may be hard pressed to call it your favorite chore, but nonetheless, laundry is part of all our lives. Even if your laundry room isn't the most spacious, there are ways to add life to it and maybe even make it feel a little bigger.
1. Counter Space
While it may be no easy feat to create space where there is none, adding a counter space somewhere in your laundry room/hall/section of the house can give you a place to work and get the laundry sorted, folded or scrubbed in a more efficient manner. Plus: It can be a great opportunity to sneak in that soapstone or butcher block you were denied in the kitchen.

2. Sink
Since there is already plumbing connected to your washer, adding a sink to this space may be easier than you thought. Sink’s can help with pre-washing and other messy tasks that you would like to keep out of your kitchen sink. Plus, remember that soapstone sink you’ve always wanted…

3. Cabinetry
In any room, storage makes the difference, that is no different in this case. Whether it be for soaps, cleaners, baskets, or knick knacks you forgot to take out of your pockets, cabinets can help de-clutter this room in a way you didn’t think possible. This can also be a great place to store your linens.
4. Barn Door
You probably didn’t think there was space in your home for some barn door hardware, even though you’ve been drooling over the pictures on Pinterest. I have good news: you do, and it can be for good use too. Using barn doors to hide your washer or dryer can help streamline a space, hide the mess, and make everything look cleaner. See? Dreams do come true.
5. Drying Racks
Having a system to air dry your clothes can not only save your clothes from unnecessary ware but also help save you on your electricity bill. Whether it is a free standing drying rack, attached to the wall, or an installed closet pole, having a place to hang your clothes will help you keep the wrinkles at bay.
