Summer is coming and that means it’s time to open up our homes to the precious few months of warmth and sunlight. Just like us, a little bit of fresh air can do wonders for your home.
Hanging out on a screened in porch is perhaps one of the finest summertime activities. Being outside and able to enjoy the air and the breeze, with none of the bugs, is a beautiful thing. With a good book and cold beverage, it can feel as though all is right in the world. That's a feeling that only happens when our screens are working properly though.
Screens can change the space we operate in. Opening up our homes to world outside, and letting in a breath of fresh air. The feel of a cool summer breeze without the bugs and debris can make all the difference in your home. Overtime, our screens get damaged (pets can be especially hard on them).
There is a kind of relief and satisfaction that spreads in the summer, when it’s time to take off the storm windows and open everything up. Letting fresh air into places that have been feeling stale and stagnant for months. Literally breathing new air, and new life into your home
As wonderful a feeling as this can be, often times fresh air isn’t the only thing we invite in to our homes by doing this. Depending upon the day or which way the wind blows, any number of things can crawl, climb or fly through our open windows. Even a small tear in your screen can result in the annoying buzz of a mosquito ready to ruin your peace. The proper screening in your home will improve your summer experience, and your peace of mind.
This is where the screens come in. Though we often forget in the winter months the damaged states of your screens. Maintenance or replacements get put off 'til next season,' because it's time to put the storm windows in anyway. But now it’s next season, and there is still a giant hole in your screen. Sure, you might convince yourself it kind of works ok, but we all know that’s not really true.
When you are lying comfortably in bed and that one mosquito is buzzing around, you will realize the time, money and efforts are worth it to get that screen fixed. So do yourself a favor and fix the screen or get a new one. Do what you have to, but do it now. The long awaited summer is just over the horizon, and it’s time to open up and let the air in.
